 At the League Fixture Meeting on Monday 29th August, the Chairman expressed his concern at the increasing "chatter"amongst members concerning payment allegedly being made to players by some clubs in the league. Whilst no person when directly approached was prepared to give conclusive facts, the Chairman at this stage is powerless to act. However he did take the opportunity to advise that any club involved should take note that unless they can produce receipts for legitimate expenses incurred by a player any other payment could be construed as a form of contract by which the player in future may use effectively against the club, club chairman or secretary.
